John Norton

John Norton began his career as an illustrator after he graduated from Syracuse University, while he was teaching and working on his M.S. degree in zoology at Clemson University. For over 15 years he has used his artistic talent and knowledge of nature from a scientific perspective to create illustrations and cartoons for newspapers, field guides, biology textbooks, science journals, and advertising campaigns. His attention to detail and meticulous reproduction of the objects at hand made him the perfect candidate to illustrate the 2006 edition of JOY.

He recently completed illustrations for the new Audobon Field Guide to Tropical Marine Fishes, artwork for the new interactive exhibit at Jug bay Wetlands Sanctuary and a series of cartoons for Chesapeake Bay Foundation publications. Visit John at www.johnnortonart.com
